Why this product stands out
Why this product stands out
Amla (Indian gooseberry) has been part of traditional routines for a long time. Spierb Amla Powder offers a practical way to bring that idea into your own bathroom: a single-ingredient amla powder that stays dry on the shelf and mixes easily with water when you’re ready to use it.
Used as an amla powder hair mask, it slips neatly into your regular wash routine. You mix the powder with water to create a smooth paste, apply it to hair and scalp, let it rest for a short time, then rinse before shampooing. Many people enjoy how their hair feels afterwards – fresh, light and ready for styling.
On the skin, this amla powder for skin can be used in simple DIY face and body masks. Mixed into a soft paste and applied as a thin layer, it becomes part of a calm self-care moment: a few quiet minutes, a gentle rinse, and skin that feels cleansed and comfortable.
Because this is a pure amla powder, you can keep things very minimal or build more involved recipes. You might choose only amla and water, or combine it with other herbs. A classic pairing is Amla with Shikakai powder in a hair mask, or with Multani Mitti in a basic clarifying face mask.
If you’re new to working with herbs, the Spierb Learn Hub is there to guide you. You’ll find an Amla ingredient guide, step-by-step how-to articles, and a glossary entry for amla powder so you can explore different ways to use it safely and comfortably in your cosmetic routine.
How to use (step-by-step)
How to use (step-by-step)
Always start with a patch test. See “Good to know” for a simple method.
For hair masks
- Add 2–4 tablespoons of Amla Powder to a clean, non-metal bowl (adjust for hair length and thickness).
- Gradually add lukewarm water, stirring until you have a smooth, yoghurt-like paste.
- Use it as a simple amla powder hair mask, or mix in other herbs such as Shikakai powder or a little Henna if they are already part of your routine.
- Apply to slightly damp hair and scalp, working through sections so everything is evenly coated.
- Cover with a shower cap and leave for around 15–30 minutes, making sure the paste does not dry rock-hard.
- Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water, then shampoo and condition as usual.
Begin with about once a week and adjust depending on how your hair feels.
For scalp-focused use
- Mix a smaller amount of amla powder for hair and scalp with water to create a smooth, spreadable paste.
- Apply gently to the scalp using your fingertips or a brush, focusing on areas that feel heavy or in need of attention.
- Leave for 10–20 minutes, then rinse, shampoo and condition as normal.
Start with shorter timings and see how your scalp responds.
For face & body masks
- For a simple amla powder face mask, add 1–2 teaspoons of Amla Powder to a bowl.
- Add enough water (or a mild hydrosol) to make a soft, lump-free paste.
- Apply a thin layer to clean skin, avoiding the eye and lip area.
- Leave on for around 5–10 minutes. If the mask begins to feel tight or uncomfortable, rinse earlier.
- Rinse with lukewarm water, pat dry and follow with your usual moisturiser or body lotion.
Use 1–2 times per week, according to how your skin feels.

- Before first use, carry out a patch test (Mix a small amount of paste and apply to a discreet area of skin (such as the inner forearm). Leave for 10–15 minutes, then rinse and wait 24–48 hours. If the skin feels comfortable, you can then use it more widely.)
- Avoid contact with eyes, mouth and sensitive areas. If contact occurs, rinse with plenty of clean water.
- Do not apply to broken, very irritated or sunburned skin.
- Natural plant powders can feel different from person to person. Start with shorter application times at first, then adjust based on how your hair and skin respond.

FAQ's - Amla Powder for Hair & Skin - INT Pack
What can I use Spierb Amla Powder for?
Spierb Amla Powder is a cosmetic amla powder for hair and skin. You can use it in hair masks, scalp packs, face masks and simple body masks. By changing how thick or fluid the paste is, you can adapt it to different parts of your routine.
Is this a pure, single-ingredient amla powder?
Yes. Spierb Amla Powder is a pure amla powder made from amla fruit, with no added colours or fragrance from our side. It’s a single-ingredient amla fruit powder designed for people who prefer short, easy-to-understand ingredient lists.
Can I combine it with other Spierb herbs?
You can. Many people like using Amla together with other herbs from the Spierb range. For example, you can blend it with Shikakai powder in a hair mask or use it alongside Henna in more developed routines. Introduce new combinations slowly and pay attention to how your hair and skin respond.
Will Amla Powder change my hair colour?
On its own, Amla Powder is mainly used as a cosmetic hair mask rather than a strong colouring product. Hair can react differently from person to person, so we don’t promise a particular shade or colour result. If you’re combining Amla with Henna or other colouring herbs, it’s a good idea to try a small test section first.
How often can I use Amla Powder in my routine?
Many people enjoy using amla powder masks around once or twice a week, depending on how their hair and skin feel. This is a single-ingredient cosmetic powder, so you can build it into your schedule at your own pace. For ideas, recipes and routine suggestions, you’ll find inspiration in the Amla articles and guides on the Spierb Learn Hub.
Absolutely Great but prepared, So so Sour!! It’s good and feels good to take but be ware not to over dose because you can’t neutralize all of it. I mix if with Moringa powder and blend them into smoothies and have some one breakfast- always balance it out with raw cacao and maple and flaxseed etc..
Still Experimenting. So far, adding Amla to Indigo leaves my hair shiny - and it may even extend the duration of colour for an extra week...
Je l'ai mélangé au henné, agréable. Les cheveux sont brillants.
