Accessibility Statement

Spierb is committed to ensuring that our website and online services are accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. We actively work to improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards.

Standards we follow

Our goal is to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, and we are progressively adopting WCAG 2.2 AA success criteria where feasible.

What we do to support accessibility

  • Design with color contrast, focus states, and keyboard access as requirements (not afterthoughts).
  • Use semantic HTML, headings, labels, and ARIA only if needed.
  • Provide text alternatives for non-decorative images and icons.
  • Maintain visible “Skip to content” links and logical tab order.
  • Test new components with keyboard, screen readers, and automated tooling before release.
  • Train our team on accessibility best practices and review issues regularly.

Conformance status

We believe this site is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 AA. Partial conformance means some parts of the content do not fully conform. We track and remediate issues on an ongoing basis (see “Known limitations” below).

Known limitations & workarounds

If you encounter an issue not listed here, please let us know so we can fix it.

Area Issue Impact Workaround / Fix plan
Third-party app widgets Occasional missing labels or low contrast in embedded widgets Screen reader/keyboard users We monitor vendors and raise issues; if needed we swap or patch via script/CSS.
Legacy content Older blog/images may lack descriptive alt text Screen reader users We’re updating alt text as we review archives; new content requires alt by default.
PDFs/downloads Some PDFs aren’t fully tagged for accessibility Screen reader users Accessible HTML alternatives are being added; request a tagged PDF and we’ll prioritize.

Compatibility with browsers & assistive technology

This website is designed to be compatible with the latest versions of major browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) and is tested with assistive technologies such as VoiceOver and NVDA. Some features may not work as expected in very old browsers that do not support modern HTML/CSS/JavaScript.

Technical specifications

Accessibility of this website relies on the following technologies to work with your browser and assistive technology:

  • HTML, WAI-ARIA, CSS, JavaScript
  • Shopify platform and theme
  • Third-party apps (e.g., analytics, consent banner, review widgets)

While we select accessible apps where possible, we do not control all code delivered by third parties. We track issues and work with vendors to resolve them.

Assessment approach

We assess accessibility through a combination of internal reviews, automated testing (e.g., axe, Lighthouse), and manual testing with keyboard and screen readers. We also review customer feedback and prioritize fixes based on impact.

Feedback & support

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of our site. If you encounter barriers, need information in an alternative format, or require a reasonable accommodation, please contact us:

We aim to respond within 2 business days. For format requests (e.g., accessible PDF), please tell us the content you need and your preferred format.

Continuous improvement

  • Rolling audits each quarter
  • Staff training updates twice a year
  • Migration of PDFs to accessible HTML where feasible
