Why You’ll Love It
Spierb Indigo Powder transforms henna‑coloured hair effortlessly into long‑lasting dark brown or jet‑black hues. Used on its own, it can leave a subtle blue cast on very light or grey strands. The finely milled powder mixes into a creamy paste, ensuring smooth application without gritty residue — a perfect natural alternative to harsh chemical or synthetic black hair dyes.
Important Colour Tips – Find Your Perfect Shade
Think of indigo and henna like transparent paint: the colour you end up with depends on the canvas you start with. Here’s a quick, friendly guide to steer you toward the brown or black you really want — starting from grey, light, or medium‑brown hair.
- Grey → Soft Brown: First lay down a warm henna base (about 30 g henna to 90 mL water, 1–2 h), rinse, then pop on a 50:50 henna‑indigo mix for 30 min. Voilà — gentle chestnut.
- Grey → Deep Brown / Natural Black: Skip the two‑step and mix one paste using 1 part henna to 2 parts indigo. Leave 45‑60 min for a cool, coffee‑dark result.
- Grey → Jet Black: Go classic: Day 1 pure henna, Day 2 pure indigo for 45‑90 min. Deep, rich, and drama‑ready.
- Medium‑Brown Hair → Richer Brown: Try 3 parts indigo to 1 part henna for 30‑45 min — just enough blue to deepen without going fully black.
- Medium‑Brown Hair → Black: Equal parts henna + indigo in one step, or do the henna‑then‑indigo two‑step if you want a cooler, inkier black.
- Always Strand‑Test: Snip a hidden lock or scoop shed strands, colour them first, and tweak the henna‑indigo ratio or timing until you love the shade.
- Mix Fresh, Never Store: Whip up the paste right before use. Freezing or pre‑mixing dulls those natural dye molecules and can flatten your final colour.
Play, tweak, and have fun — because with plant dyes, the perfect shade is totally in your hands!

FAQ's - Indigo Leaf Powder - EU Pack
What does Indigo Powder do?
Indigo (Indigofera tinctoria) is a natural dye that deposits a cool blue tone. Used with henna, it deepens shades from warm brown to brunette and near-black. It does not lighten hair; results depend on your starting color and hair porosity—so a quick strand test is smart.
Does it cover grey hair?
Indigo on its own can look bluish/teal on greys. For reliable brunette-to-black coverage, it’s typically paired with henna (either mixed together or used in a two-step routine). Coverage and depth improve over 24–48 hours as the color oxidizes.
Is it compatible with dyed or bleached hair—and can I color over it later?
Pure indigo is generally compatible, but very porous/bleached hair can grab a strong blue-green cast—always strand-test first. Later chemical color may read cooler/darker, and bleach will lift through green. Avoid products mislabeled as indigo that contain metallic salts or PPD.
Indigo vs. “black henna”—what’s the difference?
True indigo is a single plant powder that stains hair blue and is blended with henna to achieve browns and blacks. “Black henna” often refers to mixes that may contain PPD or metallic salts, which can be harsh or unsafe. Choose pure, ingredients-listed indigo for safer, predictable results.
